About Our Club
Wallington Sports Club did not come into being until 1971. It was originally called Wallington Cricket Club Ltd. which was formed in 1921when the land was purchased by the selling of shares at ten shillings (50 pence) each.
The main Directors of the company had the initials C.O.S.D.A.C.H. and yes you have guessed correctly. Cosdach Avenue came into being
Cricket was the only sport played here initially, including through the war years. After the war ended other sports were introduced. The first was Hockey followed by Tennis.
In 1971 the name was changed to Wallington Sports Club and we were given a 100 year lease. One of the provisos of the lease was to encourage and promote various sports. This we have done with the inclusion of a very strong ladies Lifeline Netball section and a strong youth football section under the banner of AFC Lanes. Not forgetting of course that cricket is still played every weekend.
In 1994 the old wooden clubhouse burnt down and was rebuilt and opened again in 1997.

As a community club, we allow Bandon Hill School to use our facilities, which enables us to gain more social members plus a large proportion of the children are playing junior football here and getting colts training with the Cricket section.
Come along and have a look around, you will be pleasantly surprised.
